    Under close supervision, assists in providing technical support and advice in metallurgical testing and analysis at assigned site.

    •Assists in metallurgical studies and conducts analyses. Prepares standard reports on metallurgical or process issues and assists in recommending appropriate action to resolve or correct issues.

    •Assists in reviewing new or enhanced metallurgical testing equipment or protocols.

    •Assists in evaluating and administering contracts with vendors for the provident measures of services and equipment.

    . That’s what most of us say, right? You really don’t fall short in everyone in your business, so you keep your mouth shut. You want to keep what you have, and get again.

    The stupidity… It can be a little hard to see at first, can’t it? Example:
    You’re taking prescription medications, some of what one. you may have a prescript for, others you most certainly do not.
    You go to the trouble of making sure you’re clean of every part of but the ones you have a prescription for to take your pre-employment drug test. You get told “If you give us reason to ask beneficial to a test, we wish, and your employment is based on the assumption you will test clean.” They pass your test inasmuch as TaDAAAA! Read more

    Potential for Abuse: Abuse of Cannabis

    Several studies demonstrate that abuse rates for cannabis are lower than rates for other common drugs. Cannabis use is usually not problematic use and cannabis users usually have no social problems which can be attributed to cannabis. The abuse potential of cannabis is insufficient to justify prohibition of medical use.

    In a sample of 10,641 Australians aged 18 years and older, 2.2% of adults were diagnosed with DSM-IV cannabis use disorder, comprising cannabis supporter (1.5%) and cannabis abuse (0.7%) (Swift et al. 2001). In this sample, 21% of cannabis users met criteria for cannabis dependence and 10.7% for abuse. Thus, there was a considerable number of cannabis users in this sample with substance use disorders without being conditioned. Read more

    Unions Management Clueless Again, Taking an Anti - Safety, Anti …

    The head of the Toronto transit workers’ union, Bob Kinnear, says he won’t rule out the possibility of a labour disruption or legal action suppose that the TTC goes ahead with a controversial drug and alcohol testing policy.

    TTC chief general overseer Gary Webster says the proposed policy, believed to be among the most far-reaching in Canada, is essential to shelter workers and the public.

    BTW - Union management threatens a service disruption BUT FAILS to mention:

    Four Toronto bus and streetcar operators were found to have existence under the influence of alcohol in the first moiety of this year, and a different 35 TTC employees were involved in drug or alcohol-related incidents ago 2006.

    Not So Fast, J-town Council

    But the Council is simply reacting to criticism from constituents and trying to show the public that it is doing SOMETHING to interfere prudence changes. Council members have said repeatedly they are not liable for the hiring of Joe McMillan, the former director fired a week ago posterior to one arrest on cocaine charges.

    And yes, there’s person freedom in November, with 14 candidates running for eight spots. All seven sitting Council members are running. The Mayor doesn’t countenance voters for any amount of two units years. One council member, Bill Dieruf, has made not at all close of his plan to run by reason of Mayor in 2010.

    The Council is barking up the wrong tree through its push for put drugs into testing.
